2 Hrs Medication Assistance Certification Renewal: RENEWAL ONLY! Those who completed the initial 4 hrs training in Florida. Florida law requires all persons who assist residents w/ self-administered medications to complete 2 hrs of continuing education in this field. This course meets those requirements. (Employers must have proof of your initial 4 hour training.) Cost – $55

Phlebotomy Technician

Program Objective: Prepare students for employment as phlebotomy technicians.
Program Description:This program trains students in safe and effective blood specimen collection through capillary and venipuncture on adults, children, and neonates. Instruction includes proper specimen handling, labeling, blood smear preparation, timed specimen collection, and maintaining specimen integrity for laboratory testing. Students also learn patient care, safety procedures, medical terminology, CPR (Heartsaver), communication, and employability skills. Additional training includes specimen processing, centrifuging, aliquoting samples, laboratory specimen distribution, and preparation of collection trays.

Hemodialysis Technician

Program Objective: To prepare the student with the necessary skills for employment such as hemodialysis tech or dialysis tech.
Program Description: The Hemodialysis technician includes but is not limited to communication and interpersonal skills, legal and ethical responsibilities, renal health- illness concepts, hemodialysis skills, emergency procedures including CPR and first aid, safety and security procedures, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and employability skills. Hemodialysis technicians focus on two different capacities, one being the assembly of the equipment as well as the maintenance of the equipment and the second focus of the Hemodialysis Technician is on patient care.

Program Objective: To train students and provide the necessary skills to seek employment in Assisted Living Facilities and Home Health Agencies.
Program Description: This program includes instructor-led classroom and hands-on application or practice in a skills lab. Students must successfully complete daily quizzes, weekly tests, and a final exam in order to graduate from this program. An HIV/AIDS is taught during this program. Upon completion of this course students will receive a certificate verifying the requirement has been met.
